2. Authentication:

   - Once the authentication is successful, the sender and receiver proceed to the network layer protocol negotiation phase.

3. Network Layer Protocol Negotiation:
   - In this phase, the sender and receiver negotiate the network layer protocol to be used for data transmission.
   - The Link Control Protocol (LCP) packets are exchanged to determine the network layer protocol, such as Internet Protocol (IP), that will be encapsulated within PPP for data transmission.
   - Once the network layer protocol is agreed upon, the PPP link is fully established, and the sender and receiver can exchange data using the chosen network layer protocol.

PPP provides features such as error detection, compression, and encryption. It supports multiple network layer protocols, making it flexible and widely compatible with various networking technologies.
